Wiess Energy Instituteand The College of Technology University of Houston present: A brief overview of the energy industry from exploration to marketing. This program provides a lecture on the petroleum value chain which includes exploration, appraisal, development, surface production facilities, refining and marketing. The focus will be on providing the attendee with a discussion of the fundamentals of the industry reinforced with a tour of the world class Wiess Energy Hall. This course is ideal for new hires or those within the petroleum industry who want to understand how their job fits into the entire petroleum value chain as well as for those who want to understand more of the principles and terminology used within the industry. The Green River Formation is famous for its well-preserved fossil fish and other aquatic animals and flora.
